OUR TOWN...

The Town of Tamworth, which is comprised of the central village area, Chocorua Village, South Tamworth and Wonalancet, is at the core of our business. Tucked away in the hills and woods you will find local craftsmen and woman “doing their thing” from pottery to needlepoint. The arts are prominent with musical and dramatic presentations held year round at the Barnstormers Theater and other venues. You will often see a local artist sitting by the roadside with paintbrush in hand capturing a spectacular view of the pastoral landscape.

For the athlete, or those who just enjoy a walk in the woods, hiking trails abound for all levels of skill and ability. In the winter these same trails are used for cross country skiing or snowmobiling. Downhill Skiing is only a short drive away. If you are more inclined to curl up beside the fire with a good book, you can find a great selection in the local libraries.

Local farms supply us with homegrown produce ranging from corn to maple syrup, even cheese and ice cream. All these products and crafts and much more are displayed in the neighboring town of Sandwich at the only country fair held in Carroll County, a 3 day event held over the Columbus Day Weekend. These are just a few of the attractions that keep people coming back year after year, or settling in permanently, in our local towns.
